Cleaning your Kazzi Kovers products before use is a matter of personal preference. Our 100% Cotton Garment and Storage Bags are ready to protect and store your garments, seasonal items, and belongings from the moment they arrive.

Some products may require occasional spot cleaning or a gentle wipe-down, like our wooden hangers, or lightly sanding the cedar blocks and cedar rings. Otherwise, it depends on the material and how they are stored. Always refer to the individual care instructions provided with each product or see our Care Instructions Guide.

More importantly, always ensure that clothing, linens, delicate fabrics, keepsakes, accessories, and all other items are freshly cleaned and completely dry before seasonal, short-term, or long-term storage. This helps prevent trapped odours, moisture build-up, and pest attraction while supporting the longevity of the items stored inside.

As part of good long-term storage care, we recommend checking stored items, garments, linens, bedding, delicate fabrics, keepsakes, and heirloom pieces every 6-12 months, particularly when they have not been worn or used.

Although our breathable, fully enclosed bags help protect stored items from dust, light, moisture build-up, and insects, occasional inspections allow you to identify any changes caused by the surrounding storage environment. Gently remove each piece and check that it remains clean, dry, fresh, and free from staining, discolouration, persistent fold lines, or signs of insects or moth damage before returning them to storage.

For additional care, place Acid-Free Tissue Paper between folds to cushion delicate fabrics and reduce creasing. Cedar Rings and Cedar Hanging Blocks may also be used in wardrobes, drawers, cupboards, and storage areas to help deter moths and other insects, and absorb odours. Avoid placing cedar directly against light-coloured fabrics, as the natural wood may cause colour transfer. You can wrap the cedar in a tissue or acid-free tissue paper where necessary.

For long-term storage, ensure all garments, linens, bedding, keepsakes, and heirloom pieces are freshly laundered or professionally cleaned and completely dry before placing them inside your Cotton Garment Bags, Storage Bags, or Cotton Packing Cells. Zip each bag to the very end to ensure it is fully enclosed before storage. Store each bag in a cool, dry, and well-ventilated area away from direct sunlight, dampness, and excessive humidity.

As part of good long-term storage care, we recommend checking your belongings every 6-12 months, particularly when they have not been worn or used. For additional protection, place Cedar Rings or Cedar Hanging Blocks in wardrobes, walk-in robes, linen cupboards, drawers, shelves, and other storage areas to help naturally deter moths, silverfish, and other insects. Cedar can also help absorb excess moisture and unwanted odours. Avoid placing cedar directly against light-coloured garments or fabrics, as the natural wood may transfer colour. Instead, wrap the cedar in acid-free tissue paper, or wrap it in tissue and place it between the stored item and the cedar.

Cedar Rings: Best placed 1-2 m apart, or they slip over your existing hangers. For smaller wardrobes and drawers. and shelves.

Cedar Blocks: Best placed 2-3 m apart. For larger wardrobes and spaces.

If you are travelling and will be unable to inspect your stored belongings for an extended period, careful preparation is particularly important. Ensure every item is clean and thoroughly dry before long-term storage. Use acid-free tissue paper where appropriate, add cedar protection to deter moths and absorb moisture, and choose a storage area where your belongings are kept in a cool, dry, and well-ventilated space, and protected from direct sunlight and moisture.

Delicate garments are generally best stored flat rather than hung. Cashmere jumpers, fine knits, silk pieces, scarves, and other fragile or refined fabrics can stretch, develop bumps, or lose their shape when left on hangers for extended periods, placing unnecessary strain on the fibres of the garment or accessory.

Fold each item carefully, and place it inside a breathable Cotton Storage Bag. For added support and care, use Acid-Free Tissue Paper between folds to help minimise persistent creasing, reduce fabric-to-fabric pressure, and preserve the item's shape and fabric integrity, season after season.

Yes. Always clean and launder your garments, textiles, and seasonal items before placing them into short- or long-term storage. Follow each item's care instructions, or have it professionally cleaned where appropriate.

Food residue, body oils, perspiration, make-up, and untreated stains can attract moths and other insects, contribute to discolouration, and become increasingly difficult to remove over time.

Ensure every item is completely dry before storing it. Residual or trapped moisture can cause musty odours, discolouration, mould, mildew, staining, dye bleeding or transfer, and corrosion of metal trims or fastenings, which may mark the surrounding fabric.

Lightweight pieces, such as shirts, dresses or pants, may fit comfortably together, while suits, gowns, jackets, blazers, bulky coats, and embellished and layered pieces are best stored separately to help maintain their shape and allow airflow.

For optimal protection, always store clothing clean and dry, and glide the zip to the very end to ensure the bag is securely enclosed.

Cedar rings or cedar blocks may also be added as an extra layer of natural protection, particularly for wool, cashmere, silk and animal-based fibres.

We recommend storing one leather jacket or leather garment per Garment Bag. Leather benefits from adequate airflow, and separating each piece helps reduce friction and potential colour transfer.

Colour transfer may occur when differently coloured leather garments are stored back-to-back, particularly in warm or humid conditions. For example, a red leather jacket placed against a black leather jacket may cause dyes to transfer between the surfaces and permanently mark or damage the leather.

When separate storage is not possible, place a layer of Acid-Free Tissue Paper, a clean white cotton sheet or a white cotton shirt or garment between each leather piece to create a protective barrier.

However, storing leather jackets or pieces individually remains the safest option for preserving their colour, finish, suppleness, and garment integrity.

A garment bag can hold up to three hangers, depending on the width of the hangers and the thickness of the garments.

Our Classic Clothes Hangers may accommodate several lightweight pieces, such as shirts, tops, dresses, pants and skirts.

Tailored or structured garments, including suits, gowns, jackets, coats and embellished pieces, are best given additional space. Our Wooden Hangers are solid, dense, and contoured to support the shoulders, help reduce creasing, and preserve the garment's shape and fabric structure.

For heavier garments, we recommend placing one or two garments in each bag on our Coat Hangers to help maintain their shape and fabric integrity.

No. Not every garment in your wardrobe needs to be covered. Garment Bags are most beneficial for valued pieces, including seasonal favourites, tailored garments, occasional wear, delicate and embellished pieces, and sentimental items, particularly when they may remain unworn for six to twelve months or longer. This may include a winter coat, a suit, a wool blazer, a leather or suede jacket, or a special occasion dress or gown.

Unlike plastic, non-woven, and polyester covers, a fully enclosed, breathable Cotton Garment Bag allows air to circulate while helping protect clothing from dust, dirt, light, moisture, moths, and other insects. A garment bag also helps reduce accidental snags, friction between delicate, sequinned, or embellished fabrics, and direct contact between garments, which may contribute to colour transfer on leather and suede pieces.

Our Cotton Storage Bags are generous and quite spacious, as they are flexible and unstructured. How much you can fit in one storage bag depends on the items you are storing, their size, thickness, and quantity.

Seasonal items, such as sheets, linens, clothing, blankets, throws, and scarves, can be folded and placed inside our Small or Regular size storage bags, while bulky items such as quilts, doonas, comforters, large blankets, pillows, and bulkier items will require more space and are better suited to our Large or Extra Large Storage Bags.

Please avoid overfilling the storage bags, as this can place unnecessary pressure on the zip and may cause it to break or split, permanently damaging the bag. Overfilling may also compress delicate fabrics and affect their shape, fabric integrity, and condition when stored long-term.

Fold your doona neatly before placing it inside, and avoid compressing it too tightly so the filling can retain its loft and shape during storage. Then zip the convenient 3-sided storage bag to the end, and safeguard your belongings from dust, dirt, sunlight, mould, moths and other insects.

They may be stacked up to three bags high, with heavier bags positioned at the bottom for great stability. Avoid placing excessive weight on bags containing delicate items and fabrics, natural fillings, embellishments, handmade quilts, keepsakes, or heirloom pieces.

For optimal care and preservation, store your bags away from direct sunlight, damp floors, excessive humidity, and near bathrooms or ensuites.

Garments and textiles made from animal fibres benefit most from cedar wood protection because they are particularly vulnerable to clothes moths and other fabric pests.

Use cedar as an additional layer of protection for wool suits, jackets, winter coats, cashmere, jumpers, knitwear, scarves, shawls, woollen blankets, quilts, and accessories. Cedar may also be used when storing items made from mohair, alpaca, angora, silk, felt, fur, and animal-fibre blends.

Although cotton is not a preferred food source for clothes moth larvae, cotton garments and textiles may still be vulnerable when they are heavily soiled, blended with animal fibres, or contaminated with hair, skin, perspiration, or food residue.

For reliable seasonal storage, always ensure your items are clean and completely dry before placing them inside a fully enclosed cotton garment bag or cotton storage bag. This provides an additional layer of protection and helps preserve your garments season after season.

Refresh your Cedar Wood periodically by lightly sanding its surface to restore its natural aroma. Replace it when the scent becomes faint and can no longer be restored.

Lightly sand the surface of the cedar wood every 4–6 months, or whenever its natural scent begins to fade. This helps refresh the wood and restore its aroma.

For continued effectiveness, we recommend replacing your cedar wood approximately every 12 months, or when the cedar scent has completely diminished or can no longer be restored through light sanding.
