SPACIOUS DESIGN
Measuring 185 cm (72.8″) high x 80 cm (31.5″) wide x 40 cm (15.7″) gusset, this generous bag accommodates fuller skirts, tiered layers, tulle, and dresses with trains. Its signature design makes it an ideal garment bag for gowns and a trusted wedding dress cover bag, while also fitting voluminous costumes, ceremonial gowns, and vestment robes.
The wide gusset gives fuller garments space to sit comfortably inside the bag. We recommend measuring your garment and checking the available hanging space in your wardrobe to ensure a good fit. The bag should hang freely without resting on the floor or a shelf.
FULLY ENCLOSED PROTECTION
The fully enclosed design helps shield your piece from dust, moths, other insects, and light. Two full-length side zips provide easy access, while the reinforced hanger opening sits neatly around the hook.
The two strong cotton loops at the base allow the bag to be folded over the hanger for carrying or travel, when appropriate for the garment inside.
At home, hang the bag in a wardrobe or on a rack, in a clean, dry place away from direct sunlight. Leave a little room around the bag so air can move freely and your garment can fall naturally.

Our Extra Large Garment Bag is generously sized. Check your wardrobe's available hanging height and allow room for your hanger so the 185 cm (72.8″) bag can extend to its full length without gathering on the floor or a shelf.
Before choosing your bag, measure your gown or garment on the hanger you intend to use. Check its hanging length and width, including any layers, full skirt, or train, and make sure the fabric can sit comfortably inside the bag without being compressed or caught in the zips.

For a gown with a hoop, long train, or voluminous skirt, compare its measurements with the bag dimensions to confirm the fit.
PREPARING YOUR GARMENT
For garments suitable for hanging, choose a wooden hanger that supports your garment's weight and follows its shoulder line. A hanger with contoured shoulders helps distribute weight evenly, reducing fabric strain and helping the garment retain its shape over time. Avoid flimsy wire hangers, which can leave shoulder marks and unwanted creasing during long-term storage.
Fasten closures, buttons, and zips as appropriate. Arrange the fabric, skirt, or train gently inside the bag without forcing it into the bottom, where delicate fabric may become compressed.
Full and Layered Skirts
If a skirt or train needs arranging inside the bag, follow any guidance from your dressmaker or fabric specialist. Where folding or rolling is acceptable, gently bring the lower corners of the skirt inwards, then loosely roll the hem upwards towards the waistline until it fits without excessive bunching. Keep folds loose and avoid compressing layers and embellishments.
Place acid-free tissue paper between folds and layers to help cushion the fabric, reduce friction, and help minimise sharp creases. Take particular care around lace and embellishments. This is especially important for long-term storage.
Ensure all the fabric is inside the bag and clear of both zip tracks, then glide each zip puller to the end of its track to close the bag.
STORAGE
Store the bag in a clean, dry, well-ventilated space away from direct sunlight. For a fragile, vintage, very heavy, or densely embellished gown, seek advice from a textile or preservation specialist on whether hanging is suitable for long-term storage.

For seasonal or long-term storage, launder or dry-clean your gown or garment according to its care label. Ensure it is clean and completely dry before placing it inside your garment bag.
CARE INSTRUCTIONS
Washing your garment bag before first use is optional. If you choose to wash it, make sure it is completely dry before placing your gown or garment inside.
- Cool machine wash separately
- Do not bleach, soak, or wring
- Line dry in shade or dry flat
- Do not tumble dry
- Warm iron if required
- Do not dry in direct sunlight
- Store in a ventilated area
KEEPING YOUR GARMENT BAG ENCLOSED
The hanger opening is designed to sit closely around the hanger hook. Once your gown or garment is inside, its weight gently draws the fabric down, helping the opening flatten around the hook and limit gaps where dust, moths, and other insects could enter.
AVOID OVERFILLING YOUR GARMENT BAG
Overfilling may stretch the hanger opening, leaving gaps around the hook and reducing the protection of the fully enclosed design.
When opening or closing the bag, keep your garment and any loose fabric clear of the zip tracks. If a zip catches, stop and gently free the fabric before continuing.
Once your garment is inside, glide each zip puller to the very end of its track. This helps keep the bag enclosed.
ZIP SEPARATION WHEN NEW
When you first receive your garment bag, a small section of either zip track may appear separated. This is normal for a new bag, as the zip puller hasn't yet travelled the full length of the track.
Before first use, glide each zip puller from one end to the other to align and close its track.
ZIP CARE
Each Extra Large Garment Bag features two self-healing zips. If a zip track separates or becomes misaligned, glide the zip puller from one end to the other to realign and close the track.
