Our Extra Large Bridal Garment Bag is generously sized. Check your wardrobe's available hanging height and allow room for your hanger so the 185 cm (72.8″) bag can extend to its full length without gathering on the floor or a shelf.

Before choosing your bag, measure your gown or garment on the hanger you intend to use. Compare its hanging length, width, and volume with the bag dimensions, allowing for any layers, full skirts, and trains. Your gown should sit comfortably inside the bag without being compressed.

PREPARING YOUR GOWN

Before hanging your gown, ask your dressmaker or bridal shop how best to support your gown's shape. Choose a sturdy wooden hanger or, for delicate gowns, a suitably padded hanger to cushion the fabric. Use any internal hanging loops as advised to help support your gown.

Fasten closures, buttons, and zips as appropriate. Gently arrange the gown inside the bag.

Full and Layered Skirts

For a full skirt or train, follow your dressmaker's guidance on positioning the fabric. Where folding is appropriate, create loose folds and place acid-free tissue paper between them for cushioning. Avoid tightly rolling, bunching, or compressing layers, particularly around lace, beading, and embellishments.

Before closing the bag, check that every part of your gown is inside and clear of both zip tracks. Gently glide each zip puller to the end of its track to close the bag.

STORAGE

Ensure the gown is clean and thoroughly dry before storage. Keep the cotton garment bag in a clean, dry, well-ventilated space away from direct sunlight.

Fragile, vintage, bias-cut, very heavy, or densely embellished gowns may require flat storage to support their weight and structure. Consult your dressmaker or a textile preservation specialist before hanging these pieces, particularly for long-term storage.

For seasonal or long-term storage, launder or dry-clean your gown or garment according to its care label. Ensure it is clean and completely dry before placing it inside your garment bag.

CARE INSTRUCTIONS

Washing your garment bag before first use is optional. If you choose to wash it, make sure it is completely dry before placing your gown or garment inside.

• Cool machine wash separately
• Do not bleach, soak, or wring
• Line dry in shade or dry flat
• Do not tumble dry
• Warm iron if required
• Do not dry in direct sunlight
• Store in a ventilated area

KEEPING YOUR GARMENT BAG ENCLOSED

The hanger opening is designed to sit closely around the hanger hook. Once your gown or garment is inside, its weight gently draws the fabric down, helping the opening flatten around the hook and limit gaps where dust, moths, and other insects could enter.

AVOID OVERFILLING YOUR GARMENT BAG

Overfilling may stretch the hanger opening, leaving gaps around the hook and reducing the protection of the fully enclosed design.

When opening or closing the bag, keep your garment and any loose fabric clear of the zip tracks. If a zip catches, stop and gently free the fabric before continuing.

Once your garment is inside, glide each zip puller to the very end of its track. This helps keep the bag enclosed.

ZIP SEPARATION WHEN NEW

When you first receive your garment bag, a small section of either zip track may appear separated. This is normal for a new bag, as the zip puller hasn't yet travelled the full length of the track.

Before first use, glide each zip puller from one end to the other to align and close its track.

ZIP CARE

Each Extra Large Garment Bag features two self-healing zips. If a zip track separates or becomes misaligned, glide the zip puller from one end to the other to realign and close the track.
